…with a glance at my watch. 9:30 AM????!!! I HAVE PEOPLE COMING FOR A FONDUE BRUNCH AT 10:00 AM AND I WAS GOING TO GET UP EARLY TO GO TO THE STORE! AHHH!!!!
I made it to the store. Made it home. Whipped up cheese and caramel fondues (which if you’ve ever made can be a bit tricky and thankfully these worked out without too much trouble.) I had Dave slicing and chopping and re arranging when the door rang. Ina taught me to not fret when entertaining, so we just invited the guests into the kitchen to help get things put together and before too long we were all enjoying our little “Dip into 2010!!”
Little fondue tip: I used the leftover sparkling cider to boil the burnt caramel from the pan…any carbonated soda works like a charm!!
We were all so excited to see Auntie Sherlie. We had missed her! It’s great having an old BYU friend so close.
Milo’s customary “Hello”
Sheryl, you look fab. Miranda, not too bad for leaping out of bed and throwing on clothes, then a party. Milo, you’re always a stud. Love that ginger.
Ohh, and the Livingston Children look stunning! We joined them and Aunt Missy for a trip to the TOP of the Washington Monument.
The 360 degree views are amazing from up there! Out each of the 8 windows there was something special and spectacular to see. We are so lucky to be living here in the heart of our country!
Milo loves his Beco Carrier, but sometimes he’s ready to get out and play. Then he looks at me like this. Those huge eyes asking me “Mom, why am I still stuck to you?”
Here ‘s one guy I am thrilled to be stuck to, myself. We’ve got a crazy busy semester ahead with clerkships in the days and night classes for the first time. Milo and I will have some time to go on our own adventures around D.C. and we will relish our weekends with Daddy Dave. Bring on 2010.
