Another Goodwill find. I couldn’t leave it on the rack, despite it’s missing every-other button. I’ve actually donned this baby a few times and felt quite posh…and French.
It was calling for a little reshaping, and repurposing. I began without the end in mind, which is sometimes really scary, but in this case helped me turn a myriad of problems into a fun and different style. So, Little-Baggy, Little-Short, Small-Necked Referee, meet:
More Fitted, Double-Breasted and Micro-Pleated Referee!!
I took in the side seams, shortened the sleeves, removed the collar, built a front panel, folded, ironed and stitched the micro-pleat, moved the buttons (and used the two from the sleeves to complete a half-set,) added black alternating buttons…
…tucked it into a black pencil skirt and sported it to church. And I will wear it again, and again, and again…
Look out for a RTW fashion shoot coming soon!
