I’m on a pillow roll.
It all began yesterday morning when I innocently attended a small group gathering at the home (and inventory stock room) of Del Ray Fabrics owner, Pam. I didn’t need anything specific, but of course I found a few must-haves.
One thing I could not leave without was this bright, modern, cheetah print by Echino. “Perfect for a pillow!” I thought. So, at the very end of nap time, I slipped an invisible zipper onto my 1/2 yard, and stuffed it full of down.
It is just what I needed in this chair, in this corner of the living room. A little cheetah.
Pleased with how simply and easily the fabric became a pillow, I have begun systematically moving from one end of the couch to the other, replacing my old, repurposed pillow covers with new, fun, bright and very different pillow covers.
The floral pillow was a cloth napkin that I found on sale at anthropologie about three years ago. I bought it with plans to turn it into a pillow. Good thing I still love it, huh? Better late than never!
This pom pom pillow began as my very first pieced quilt…you can see why I don’t quilt much! I put it aside a month ago because I didn’t know what to do with it. And today it got new life (and limbs!) What’s that you say? The pillow is growing a little horn there on the left? No…it’s just waving at you, silly!!
I actually sandwiched it and machine quilted the front, before sewing in the poms, zipper and backing! Pretty snazzy. Definitely jazzes up the room.
So there begins my pile of pillows as of this morning. I have four more pillow forms to cover. I’ll let you know how it goes. I seriously live for these easy, quick projects that I can finish in less than one nap time. Keeps me motivated.
