Today I went and got all “fancy” (as my three-year-old neighbor would say). An hour or so in a spa is a wonderful thing anytime, and especially at 38.875 weeks pregnant. I choose a pretty neutral light pink for my hands and bright red for my toes, to give me a pop of inspiration during labor.
(p.s. As a side story, the day I got married, I had a mani/pedi done. I choose a classic French Tip for my hands but for some reason choose olive green for my toes!! What?! I think because my wedding dress had a green sash, I thought I should match! I spent my honeymoon staring at moldy toes and don’t think I’ll ever again venture too far from a nice, normal hue:)
Do you like that pink striped belly-hugger?
I don’t know if it’s very rational to make a new maternity dress at this point in the process, but I did.
Yesterday, I wore a Target maternity dress that I got when expecting Milo. It’s so nice to have a simple dress to throw on in this record breaking heat! The design was so simple (seriously, two seams and some elastic ruching) I decided to make another.
I added some ruffles, because it’s pink, and I’m a girl surrounded (and even infiltrated:) with boys.
I think because the neckline is stretchy, it will still work well as a nursing/post-partum dress. Hopefully won’t be quite as snug in front in couple weeks, but we’ll see. Dave keeps reminding me that regardless of my slowly losing hope, Eliot IS actually going to come someday. Maybe within these next eight?
Maybe tonight?
I’ll just enjoy my comfy new dress and shiny new nails in the meantime.
Have a fantastical weekend, and send me good labor vibes:)
