The boys are asleep.
(I live on the edge and risked a wake-up with that flash on Mister Milo)
For the last few weeks, this has been my chance to rest, too. But today I’ve got too much going on. I would try to do it all at night, but after Milo is in bed, I get too tired to do anything except nurse Eliot and read. Hmm.
How do moms get it all done?
I’ve been reading along and enjoying Joanna‘s series about balance. It’s interesting to read about what methods work for people. Most of those mentioned involve child-care, which for now, isn’t part of our routine, though it could be. Seems silly to have a babysitter just to get errands and cleaning and projects done…or is it?
Anyway, I feel like I’ve been adjusting easily to having two loveys with me all the time. However, even though I’ve been out on lots of outings, managed to do our weekly grocery trip, have hit up the mall and the fabric store, something still suffers…usually the laundry and dishes…or answering emails…or eating. Isn’t that weird? All of the sudden, eating is a low priority! Never before.
This time next week Dave will be headed to Roanoke, VA to sit for the BAR exam. Once he is finished, we’ll have a few weeks with him around full-time before he begins working. I’ve taken advantage and have sure lined up some fun projects for myself, knowing he can help me with the boys. They might include sewing around seven little girl’s dresses, six little boys ties, an adult maxi dress and…ahem…a wedding dress.
Whaa?? Yes.
All in a couple weeks work. No sweat. I am super duper excited to get back on the machines. Nap time will go back to being sew time. And we’ll fit some fun in there, too. Lots of fun.
Now I’ve got an hour to finish emails, unload the dishwasher, fold the colors, finish slurping down this bowl of leftover clam chowder, send off the giveaway prizes (Alicia…email me back about the dresses!!), and water my herbs. I bought some herbs.
Have yourself a balanced day!!
