We’re headed back to Virginia this morning. It’s been the most wonderful trip. I have a few more fun photos to post of our busy family activities! One funny thing we sort of stumbled into was a talk with my little sister Emmy about not eating sweets. She’s been clean and sober (from a sugar addiction:) for four or five months now, and was telling us how she no longer misses it at all! So, last Friday Dave and I decided to jump on the band wagon and forgo “treats” until Thanksgiving…just to get back to being a little more conscious about our eating.
And then we had Eliot’s blessing and Dave’s sister home made éclairs and my sister made chocolate raspberry cupcakes…so I had to try them.
And then we had a Zumba birthday party with a cake from Tulie Bakery…so I couldn’t pass it up.
And then Melanie created a cake bar for a wedding today and we are leaving tomorrow and I won’t have her magnificent baked goods for a long time…so I dug in.
And then we went to Normandie Cafe for dinner tonight and ordered from the Two for $25 menu, which of course includes dessert, and I chose the toffee almond molten cake and Dave chose the chocolate chip brownie, and Mike chose the hot chocolate soufflé…so I tasted some of each.
BUT
Now it begins.
I am off of the sweet stuff until I eat some homemade apple pie on the fourth Thursday in November.
I’m sure glad we went to Georgetown’s newest cupcake joint, Sprinkles, before we left for Utah…
The seasonal flavor summer cherry was incredible. And how cute are the little bamboo plates and forks? Swoon.
It’s darling and charming and doesn’t have a line around the corner at 9:30am like Georgetown Cupcake. We’ll be heading back soon…
…as in November 25th:)
