Dave and I love birthdays, and it just so happens that mine (Feb 9th) is surrounded by other fun celebrations: Groundhog Day, birthdays of family members, a 5th of the month (the month-a-versary of our wedding), and of course…Valentines Day!
Dave always celebrates my “birth-week” but this year he informed me that we would have a “Fortnight of Celebration.” SO…we’ve had the fortnight kick-off, a movie and pizza night, LOST night, a walk down memory lane (looking at old photobooks), celebrated our 28 month-a-versary with our usual sparkling cider (a monthly tradition), and went out on a date to the one and only Mexican restaurant in the area. It has been awesome to be able to have so much time with Dave in the middle of a crazy semester.
On Saturday he totally surprised me by telling me that he wanted to go spend the day in Boston. A whole day with my law student husband??? Horray!! We started off by going to The Paramount on Charles Street in Beacon Hill. It is a fabulous little place that is always packed to the door with hungry people awaiting:Delicious. Malted Belgian waffles with fresh fruit, whole grain French toast with sausage, spicy homefries. The 20-30 minute wait is worth it!
We had our good friends the Wards, who live in Cambridge, join us for the grub.So happy to be hanging with my best friend. After breakfast, we wandered over to the Common to grab tickets to “He’s Just Not That Into You.”It was pretty funny. I must have been 17 or 18 when the book came out and I know I lent it to a few friends who “needed” it. I probably needed it too! Thank goodness for an amazing husband with whom I’ve always felt loved…no doubts. We spent the rest of the day saying, ” Honey, I am SOO into you.” And I am! After the movie we wandered in and out of boutiques on Charles Street and around Harvard Square. I’m not much of a shopper in this pregnant state-nothing in my size fits anymore! I’ll have to wait until summer to get my clothing fix. In the meantime it was really nice to get my husband fix. I couldn’t have asked for a better Birthday celebration.
