Definition of CHILI: Chili is a popular dish of beef stewed with seasoning and chile peppers. Although chili — or chili con carne — probably originated in Texas, variations are cooked and enjoyed throughout United States. Some variations on the traditional Texas chili include chili with beans and other types of meat.
Dave went back to the basics for our ward Chili Cook-off. He made REAL CHILI– stewed beef (not ground) with seasoning, tomatoes and green chili. It was delicious. Too spicy for the New England judges, who choose the “sweet” chili with beans and pineapple as a winner. You deserve the gold in my eyes honey! #16 pot: SPICY!! (#1-15 were clearly labeled MILD!!)
We got small bowls and tasted 4 different varieties. All pretty good. I was a sucker for the fresh croissants. I don’t know what the texans think about chili with croissants, but it was good for me!
We left stuffed and satisfied.
Uh…I guess I’m always a little stuffed these days!
