Happy February friends! Love is in the air this month; it is such a special time to think of ways to  celebrate those special people in our lives.  I had the unique and awesome opportunity these last couple months to think up how to put my feelings about love on a tee shirt as a collaboration with Shop & Apparel for Valentines Day. This is what I came up with: Love is My Favorite Adventure.
Love is really an adventure. I believe the lyrics of love songs that talk about it making us crazy, making us happy, filling us up, and letting us down. At one point, during nursing school, we had a whole lecture about the physiological changes that happen when someone is experiencing love. How those changes begin one way, then change over time as the love changes, becomes more comfortable, and grows.

I feel so blessed to have experiences so many types of love in my lifetime so far. From growing up in a family who shared love regularly, to sharing love during my dating years. I felt a new kind of love when Dave and I fell instantly into comfort with each other and I could see myself sharing my live with him. And then the babies. Oh, the love I’ve felt as a mom that broke my heart into a million pieces so it could grow and change and become more open and vulnerable than ever before.

Love in our lives is ever changing, ever growing or fading. It requires nurturing and effort, and is also resilient and strong. Love is my favorite adventure.
With the design of this tee shirt, I wanted to create something meaningful. A statement and reminder about the way the journey of love has its ups and downs and it is all worth the work! Also, being mindful of the continual impulse to add to our wardrobes, I intentionally designed this Love is My Favorite Adventure tee shirt with a Valentine’s Day message that also can be worn and loved all year round. I know it will be a staple in my capsule wardrobe this year.

Some details: The tee shirt is a soft, slub knit cotton which is cozy and comfortable. It has a unisex fit, which flatters many body types. I am already wearing it (with our spring weather here in Texas) and will be able to layer it with a cardigan during the cooler weather. It was such a fun collaboration for me to create, and I hope if it feels like it would have a special home in your wardrobe, I’d love for you to join in the celebration of the adventure of love.
