This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company. I purchased my own insurance at normal prices. All opinions are 100% mine. Nationwide provided me with information regarding its SmartRide program.
Many moms feel like they live in their cars, and I am no exception. With the kids getting a little bit older, we run between school, lessons, playdates and errands. I also am constantly on the go with work; preparing for workshops; meeting friends for working lunches; and gathering supplies for my next DIY.
For as long as I have been married, we have trusted Nationwide with our Auto Insurance, and over the last several months have also participated in the Nationwide SmartRide program. I shared about it here and there, and today I am excited to share a video I was able to make in partnership with Nationwide.
The SmartRide Program is an innovative, participation-based program through which drivers may earn a policy discount after a six month period of monitoring a few driving factors. You simply plug the device in your car and continue on with your life, learning each week about your results in the areas such as night driving, fast acceleration, hard braking, and miles driven. Honestly, I didn’t check the email every week, but I did notice my hard braking needed some work and was able to focus on improvement.
I was thrilled to receive a 5% discount at the end of the program, and Dave earned a final discount of 19% which makes a huge difference in our monthly premiums.
With my life revolving so heavily around my car, it feels good to know that Nationwide is providing incentives for my good driving. Also, now that we have moved to Virginia our policy had to change, so we are getting geared up to do the SmartRide Program one more time and I’m determined to beat my own record and earn an even greater discount.
Nationwide asked that I include this information about the product: Products underwritten by Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Affiliates. Columbus, Ohio. Availability varies; program criteria differs in California. Stated discounts are approximations. Discounts do not apply to all coverage elements; actual savings vary by state, coverage selections, rating factors and policy changes. Enrollment discount applies during data collection; final discount is calculated on driving behavior and could be zero. Final discount applies at the next policy renewal and is subject to change based upon actuarial support at subsequent renewals or with changes in drivers or vehicles on the policy..
