Before Dave, chocolate sodas were a mystery vintage delight enjoyed by ribbon-haired blonde girls sitting at diner counters in the 20’s. Then one day at my in-laws I was handed a cup with a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream. Then, I was pointed in the direction of the chocolate syrup and soda water. I was told you had to “experiment” a little, adding some chocolate and then a little seltzer, then sip to determine whether or not you’ve hit on the right proportions. I fell in love with the creamy, icy, bubbly deliciousness of chocolate sodas.
