Isn’t it great to get a night out on the town sans children? I mean, we love our little one immeasurably, but taking a night to just hang out together was priceless. It gave us a chance to talk about Milo without having to chase him around!! We got to catch up on a lot of other things, too.
We enjoyed a picnic in the waterfront park before an outdoor movie. I bought Italian Genoa Salami as a special treat (since we’re veggies this summer!) Stuff that in a fresh baguette with a slice of tomato, smoked gouda and avocado and you’re feeling real good:)
It was sort of weird to be able to stretch out on our blanket on the grass and just talk and people watch. There were ton’s of kiddos running around and dancing and doing cartwheels. It was nice to just lie there…
…and look at the clouds.
At dusk the screen lit up with “Transformers: Rise of the Fallen”. We broke out the Kettle Corn and snuggled under the stars. It was a perfect summer date. If we weren’t already married, I wouldn’t have needed much more convincing!
If you’re in the DC area and want to check out an outdoor summer flick, check the schedule here.
