Last night my house was so filled with smoke from kabobs on the grill pan that I threw open several windows and the front door. A passing neighbor yelled out to me “You’re desperate for summer, aren’t you?” She said she had seen us sitting in the wicker furniture on the sidewalk on Sunday…the first time in 5 months that it has been sunny and warm enough to bask. I don’t know if she knew that the reason the furniture was on the sidewalk is because the porch was already in the shade… or that 2-3 hours later, after that particular bit of sidewalk was in the shade I moved to the other side of the house to catch the last bit of the sun:) Thankfully, my cheeks are a little sun-kissed and I have my first pale farmer’s tan of 2009. I’ve missed it! I suddenly feel more alive! Last night was probably too cold for bbq kabobs and watermelon on the porch, but I am truly desperate. It was delish…tasted like summer…and I pretended that pile of snow next to us was not even there!
“Here comes the sun, do do do do, here comes the sun and I say, it’s all right , do do do do do do do do do do do do do do…”
