Leap Day! Do you ever celebrate? It comes around only every fourth year, and feels like a perfect day to celebrate and document, but not a day I’ll ever remember to go all out on. Here are four easy ways to celebrate even if you haven’t thought about it until this minute!
1. Take Leap Day Photos!
Make a simple poster with Leap Day and the year on it, then take photos of the family each making their biggest leap into the air! This idea has the double fun of jumping photos, which of course everyone loves, as well as documenting your look! We took some back in 2012 as well, and I was holding baby Eliot (now 4!) and wearing my then-favorite chartreuse jeans. I love that captured in time!
2. Make Frog Eye Salad
This mixture of tiny pasta, fruit, whipped cream, and marshmallows is a huge crowd pleaser, and super simple to make! It’s fun to tie in the idea of frogs leaping, and the frog-eye-shaped pasta. Whip a batch to eat with dinner or for dessert tonight!
3. Play Leap Frog
Everyone knows this traditional game, but I don’t know how often people actually play it! It’s free and easy to get out and play a game or two, or simply leap-frog down the hallway.4. Fill out a Leap Year Capsule Sheet
Four years is a long enough time that there will be some significant changes between now and then! I made this simple Leap Year Capsule Sheet to easily print so each of us can record a couple little pieces of life today. Once they’re finished tonight, I’ll fold them into an envelope and store it in a safe place to open on leap year 2020! Download the sheet for free HERE.
Have a happy Leap Day!
