El Lago
July 12, 2009
Ahhh, Lake Powell. One of my favorite destinations since I was a littlie. A week spent basking in the sun, ripping across the wake, indulging in a good read and resisting the urge to eat more of the good food stuffs available. I have Lake Powell memories stretching way back into my elementary school years, more abundant and lively memories from middle and high schools, and then some fun and more vivid memories from the last couple years with Dave along. This was Milo’s first trip. He loved it.
The little stud enjoying the shade of the little shade fort we built for him on the boat.
He looked at me like, “Mom, are you serious? And where did your eyes go?”
Mamo couldn’t get enough
After his houseboat sink bath, I realized the houseboat cooler bath that is traditional with young’ns at Powell is probably the better option…who knew at 2 months they grow out of the sink? 🙂
As usual, the water was warm, the sun bright and the marina store ice cream delicious.
We were sad to have to leave a little earlier than the rest of the crew, but it was great to be able to fly home with Poppa rather than braving the 7 hour drive home.
“Maverick” and Milo
I was worried he might lose some hearing with the roar of the engines, so I tried to keep the Bose on him. He didn’t seem to mind much!
Milk drunk passenger after his mid-flight meal;)
Co-pilot Dave learned a lot about flying in the hour it took to traverse the state. Thanks for getting us safely on the ground Poppa!!
