Eliot, Two Months!
August 23, 2011
Growing up way too fast.
11 pounds 10.5 ounces!!
23.25″ long!!
I am falling more in love every day. Eliot is waking up into peaceful, charming, baby. He has longer awake periods during the day now, and looks around taking everything in. When I coo at him, he coos back with a smile. Today I even got some little giggles out of him, which sounded like music to this mamas ears. He has a perfectly shaped head, that Dave and I buzzed on Sunday to pre-empt those baby hair stragglers that all too often are cherished by parents. He holds his head up super well, and surprises me with how strong he is. He smells like heaven, and now when I snuggle him I can’t keep my nose off of his fuzzy head! Night sleep is stretching out, and he usually goes from 7-8ish pm until 4ish am, which is a great uninterrupted stretch, but I am not disciplined enough to turn in at 8 pm. So I sleep midnight to 4 am, then we’re all up around 7 am. Eliot’s peepers are looking like they might stay blue. I don’t know what I’ll do with a blue-eyed baby! Milo’s dark eyes woo me, but I fell in love with Dave’s baby blues. I am getting a serious bicep workout from the bouncing that Eliot likes to soothe him to sleep if I’ve missed the “sweet spot” and he is overtired. He loves his whale sounds and crashing waves to sink him into a good slumber. He is wonderful.
