I’m a fabric person, through and through. In fact, I think part of the reason I love to sew is for the fabrics. I love choosing the colors and textures, and the way they define an outfit or a space. I feel the same way about the patterns, colors, and textiles I choose for my home.Since I was married and had to start buying my own home goods, including seemingly mundane things like tupperware containers and paper towels, I’ve always loved to use Viva® Towels because they feel like fabric! They are soft, durable, and have the quality of cloth, with the ease of being disposable or compostable. While I also often use cloth napkins, and always have dishrags on hand in the kitchen as well, I find that these paper towels are perfect for quick mess cleanup, dusting, using as table linens, or even quickly wiping a running nose or messy hands because they’re so soft!
With most home basics, I stick to classic white to avoid the novelty of kitschy designs that sometimes come (what is is with outdated florals on paper goods?!) I was happy to see Viva® Brand partner with Alyssa Milano to create some really great looking designs for their Signature Collection. The actress designed a series of nine patterns with great colors, modern designs, and the same really great fabric-like quality of their traditional towels. I had fun styling them in several different settings around my house for the company’s look book, and have been so happy with the way they compliment, rather than detract from the settings.
Viva® Brand has launched a fun contest in connection with the new Viva® Signature Design Towels. By creating a pinboard inspired by one of the nine different designs, you could be one of five people awarded $1,000 towards bringing their dream kitchen to life! I already have my dream kitchen, but think I’ll enter for the fun of building a dream pinboard! Official contest rules are available at VivaDesignsContest.com It’s a fun way to combine my fabric love and Viva® Towels.
I’ve been really thinking about my home and it’s design and how it came into being because Design Mom asked me to share a home tour as part of her Living with Kids House Tour series! The tour will be live tomorrow, and I can’t wait to share some more pieces of our home and lots of thoughts about it on her site (and more here, too) tomorrow.
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make this blog possible!
