Having Dave work full-time has been a little adjustment for me. When he was in school, he was busy, but somehow I feel like I saw a lot more of him-maybe because I was at work all day rather than home waiting for 5pm to roll around! We really enjoyed this last Saturday…mainly because we got to spend all of it together!
We hit up the SLC Farmer’s Market and strolled the aisles of Utah craftiness, and fresh foodstuffs. I couldn’t pass up my favorite multi-grain baguette from Vosen’s Bread Paradise. For lunch we headed across the street and split a delectable sandy from Caputo’s. There was a woman there selling ice cream made entirely with nuts…it was surprisingly good, but I suspect for a dairy-eater like myself, the nutty version packs more calories than just plain old creamy ice cream. I don’t know for sure though, I’d be interested to find out!
After the market, we headed to the Neighborhood House to see our good friend Chuck participate in the Urban Gallery Face Off where nine local artists complete pieces on huge garage doors using any medium. Proceeds from the event went to the daycare, and $1000 to the voter’s choice recipient, which of course was Chuck!! He is such a celeb…it was fun to see him sign autographs on t-shirts!
Milo was diggin the art…I was only a little worried about him inhaling spray paint fumes for 30 minutes!!
Chuck and his masterpiece. I was fascinated by this portrait, and especially how easily Chuck could change it with a few added lines or additional shading. Amazing! Congrats Chuck!
After the Urban Gallery, we bought Dave some rock climbing shoes, did the grocery shopping for the week, and then went to see UP in 3D with my dad and Mattie.
Milo slept right through all of the 3D action! What a fun movie, and a fantastic end to a fabulous Saturday.
