Finishing up a great week in San Antonio
October 22, 2009

Her look says it all, where to begin with closet organization. Chelsea commissioned my assistance in her long, narrow walk-in closet and we had a few hours of fun. I helped her understand that one of the first steps in organizing is freeing up space by purging the unused and unloved. More than once I laughed so hard I cried as she tried on clothes that she’s been hanging on to because they were nice and expensive, though no longer stylish (hello nun habit)

Milo helped a little. He’s in just a diaper because he had just hosed down himself and Chelsea’s bedspread in the split second between diapers. Yeah, it was the second bed he doused that day. I need to get quicker with the swap!! His sharp shooting sure makes me laugh though!

Ooh whee, a HALLOWEEN PACKAGE FROM MAMO came in the mail and there was some serious excitement in the upstairs hallway where it was opened up. There were some fun halloween decor, treats for the kids and (some Fiona’s for me–thank you thank you Emmy!!), and some homemade pieces of Elle’s costume.

This is the second photo I took of Robbie…after the first he informed me that he had a “new smile” that I should get. I guess this is the new, more subdued smile:)

Here’s a sneak peak at the Woods Halloween! Mamo (my mom) made and sent Elle’s FUNKY WITCH cape, peasant top and flowered hat. Sooo darling!

I may in fact be a mother of four some day. Scary thought. I had such an amazing time in San Antonio with Chelsea and her family, and I also got a crash course in parenting. It is crazy, exciting, draining, frustrating, hilarious, incredible, shocking, busy, and completely wonderful.

I will miss trying to feed Jane food she spits out while tearing off her bib and crying, while watching Milo try to sit up and keep him safe from Elle who has gone potty and not yet replaced her panties and has “no food in [her] body” and wants to eat what Robbie has, which is a big bowl of Pirate’s Booty because we haven’t had time to make anything else, let alone get to the grocery store so we’ll just wait for Rob to bring home pizza so we can put them all in the bath together, put on glow-in-the-dark skeleton PJ’s then get them to bed, all the time knowing that Elle will be yelling in about two-minutes that she still has no food in her body then Robbie will yell that Elle is still awake, but we’ll be busy feeding the babies to put them down and they will sleep, but Milo may wake up at 11, 2, 5 and 7 wanting to eat and play more because he is disoriented about being in a new place, but finally the house will be quiet and we will stare at each other deciding whether or not to attempt one of the fun crafts we thought of during the our drive to soccer or play group, and finally will decide we’re too tired and just go to bed. Yeah…I’ll miss that.

I’m home from my trip now and it feels a little like a vacation;)
