A beautiful orange spotted butterfly alighted on my shoulder at the park a couple days ago. Then it flapped away, and landed again…but this time on Eliot’s shoulder:) However silly, it gave me renewed hope and energy. I tend to carry a lot on my plate, and I know that a season of transition awaits in the next couple months. With Dave finishing school and beginning a new job, Milo becoming a sibling, and Eliot joining the family, we have a lot to look forward to. And also a lot to prepare for!
Beginning next week, we’ll be moving some things into storage, creating a crib in the (somewhat spacious) closet for Eliot, building Milo a toddler bed, selling some furniture and acquiring other, reupholstering our favorite armchair, making and hanging curtains for every window in the house, building a planter for the porch and figuring out a solution for the constant mess that the carpet-in-the-dining-room causes. You know, just digging in since we know we’ll be here for a while. Oh, and I guess we’ll also throw together a second birthday party for Milo, a birthday celebration for Dave and possibly acknowledge his graduation:) I tell Dave on a regular basis that I don’t want to have any big projects planned for after Eliot arrives…so what do I do? Plan them all for the next 8 weeks!!
Today I bought the supplies for curtains in the boys’ room. I can’t wait to show you what I’m going to do…
Little orange butterfly made me feel like we’ll figure it all out and make it all happen without going completely insane. We always do:)
