We (mostly I) LOVE Halloween and were a little disappointed that there weren’t any big plans for us…so we decided to throw together a last-minute (and low-key) open house for anyone who also wanted something to do on Halloween. For months we have thought that it would be funny to be Juno and Paulie Bleeker for Halloween, as we knew we were going to have a baby. It wasn’t until about 6 pm ON Halloween that we actually got some costumes together. Of course, mine was minimal, but you have no idea how tough it is to find yellow sweat bands!! I ended up whipping some together out of fleece. Yes, I actually did keep THE test…just for this occasion!Homemade root beer is delicious, and a rare treat in this house where soda is non-existent.You can find the recipe HERE. It was funny to not be able to find dry ice at a regular store here in New Hampshire-we ended up finding some at a chemical company about 20 minutes out of town. The homemade donuts flew out of the dish as soon as I could pile them up…good recipe I guess! I found it HERE(half-way down the page, posted by “mom2alilcherokee”). I knew it would be authentic by the mention of “tribes”-no one knows fried dough like the Native Americans!Hope you all had a great holiday!
