What do you get when you combine a grown-up kid (my dad), metal box, metal hangar, flames and a pig? The first (and possibly last) annual Holiday Hog at the Hangar.
How romantic that my mother gifted the 75 lb hog to my father for their anniversary. She knew how much fun he’d have roasting it all day under 40 lbs of flaming carbon!
We turned it into a family party themed “When Pigs Fly”…complete with the flying pig piñata. It was a hit with the kids;)
There she is. Wilma. After 36 hours of Mojo Brine, and about 7 hours in the box. Fantastic.
Everyone enjoyed the succulent hog. Here is my Grandpa Joe. Milo’s red may look like Joe’s in 92 years. I hear Joe’s looked like his 92 ago!
