For some reason I got in my head that we should have an old-fashioned wienie roast for the Fourth, and I’m glad we made it happen, it was so much fun, and felt celebratory in this super appropriate for the occasion sort of way! Before the roast, however, the whole family…both sides…hung out in Park City together. We got this great family portrait:
It was surprising to find a perfect spot so quickly in Millcreek Canyon. We had figured it would be crowded, but I think about when we were heading up, everyone else was heading down to catch fireworks. Milo finally sort of fits into his hamburger sweatshirt, and he loved it!!
Dave and Dad worked wonders with the fire (the fire-start gel helped a little, too!) and before long we had a great blaze with some hot hot coals for the wieners!!

Dad got campfire-creative and made a croissant wrapped pig-in-a-blanket, which turned out amazingly well.
I had been saving peeps since Easter for a delicious peep s’more. Did not disappoint. The burnt sugar gives this extra creme brulee crunch that is fabulous;)
Overall a successful celebration!
