An Indoor Garden Wedding

Oh, I just adore weddings! The one this past weekend was especially great because I was feeling better, got to help with some of the fun details, and our visit was short and sweet.
The happy couple. 
Oh my. This dress makes me want to get married all over again. Not re-do my own wedding, just have another!! It was the perfect simple without being plain, elegant without being arrogant. And it fit Sarah so well, body and personality.
Of course I don’t have photos of myself, or most of the family, or even a good one of Milo by himself in his tux. I do have a smattering of details that give a good idea of the overall feeling.  
In a single word, it was COZY.
Okay, I need another. My second word would be FUN!
The venue was a darling nursery in Salt Lake. By itself this place oozes charm, and I’d like to move right in. Add a wedding and some great food and friends? It was perfect.
There was a fun photo display in assorted frames and stacked on various gardening books. 
The tables were set in and around the flowers and plants. It felt like having a little picnic in a beautiful garden.
One nice bonus of the venue is that you can take your pick of plants to create centerpieces. My mom helped spruce these hydrangea up by hot-gluing burlap onto inexpensive plastic pots one size bigger than the plant’s own, and then tucking moss around the plant once placed inside. They turned out great, sort of natural and cottage-y:) And those simple glass votives are from my wedding and have been used over and over and over!
The fare had a homey italian cafe feel, so of course the beverage of choice was Limonata. I rarely drink soda, but if I do, you can bet it’s because one of these is within my reach!
There were three choices of sandwich, all from the tasty and singular Granato’s. They were piled in boxes, alternating with boxes of plants, along the buffet counter. These darling plant labels held the food description.
Kettle Chips were individually bagged and piled into a basket.
Huge, fresh strawberries filled a wire planter, and were served up right with a dollop of sour cream and a scoop of brown sugar.
These three little dears were the Berry Girls, and took their job very seriously! As I approached I heard “How many berries would you like?” “Um, three?” “Three, okay. Now, is this one too big, or just right?” “The bigger the better.” “Great. Here you go, thanks for coming!” Hilarious.
Although the table arrangements were straight from the nursery floor, the corsages, boutonnières, and bouquets were arranged by my sister-in-law Rachel, who is a designer at Language of Flowers. The corsages were single gardenias…I sort of wanted to pin mine right to my nose, it smelled so good! 
Do you love wedding cake? I do. This one was made by the groom’s aunt, a favorite local baker and the owner of Cakes de Fleur. The layers of white chocolate echoed the layers of tulle in Sarah’s dress. And inside? Chocolate. Mmmm.
Here are my studly men all dressed up. Once the music started, Milo didn’t hold still! He loved it!
I love my boys. Weird that it’s only been four years since Dave and I celebrated with our own wedding bash. I feel like I’ve been by his side forever. I really found my other half in him (and I seem to lose a little of myself to each child…especially my brain! So, it’s a good thing I’ve got him around to keep me together).
Milo’s station in front of the band. He alternated between fist pumping, foot stomping, climbing on the speakers, whirling himself in circles, and running around to the beat.
All the happiness in the world to the new Mr. and Mrs.!!
