Freshly cut lavender from around my mother’s front porch, mason jars tied with simple satin ribbon, and $2 fabric from JoAnn’s in the wedding colors set the stage for a fun, low-key, yet still beautiful and detailed shower.
I pre-wrapped the plastic utensils in napkins to eliminate the need for several stacks of items on a limited-space buffet. Three delicious salads, fruit and fresh rolls were the simple, delectable fare. Behind the food you can also see the jar and candy for the shower game…described here.I opted for easy but fresh lemonade with fruit and mint for the bevie. I just used the recipe on the back of the lemon juice bottle, then added more juice and sugar until it tasted right to me. So, I guess I really didn’t use the recipe all that much!! The fresh mint (from mama’s garden) added a subtle freshness, I received several compliments, and everyone went back for more!
And then there were cupcakes! Not any run-of-the-mill either. Light, fluffy, just-sweet-enough coconut and chocolate from Mel’s Baked Goods. Topped with mint and lavender, they tied the shower details all together. It was fab. Simplea fab!
