Every once in a while (about 2-3 weeks), I need a healthy dose of the big city. Luckily, Boston is about 50 minutes south, so fulfilling that hankering is not too difficult a task. This week, my mom’s cousin Sue is visiting, so I brought her along for a great day downtown. We met up with Dave’s cousin, Katherine, for brunch at Paramount in Beacon Hill-but not before taking a photo on Acorn Street, the most photographed street in the U.S. (supposedly). After wandering to our hearts content on Charles and Newbury streets, we visited some of the historic colonial sites and even hung out with some crazies who thought Halloween was this week!!
A few days back in reality and I welcomed the opportunity to head out to the coast of Maine this afternoon. The excuse was a great wicker patio set I found on craigslist, but the real fun of the trip was oohing and aahing autumn on the Atlantic. It’s nice to have such great escapes so close to home!!
