We made it safely back to Utah last Saturday. Milo was great on the airplane-slept most of the time. He got a “My First Flight” certificate from the head flight attendant. It was awesome. Sunday was a catch up on sleep from the last 3 weeks (and big move), and the Memorial Day we were ready to part-ay.
The backyard BBQ was super fun with Grandpa Brubaker and his bride of about 2 years Dorothy (on the R), the Pehrson and Smoot families (on the L) and the Andersons (in the background).
Dave is happy to be back in the Wasatch soaking in his last day of official summer vacation:) He began his internship at the BYU technology transfer office today. One of the requirements to getting hired (and paid) is to be an enrolled BYU student (because of a campus wide hiring freeze on anyone but). He’s making my dad proud with his 1 Cougar credit this summer!!
Rachel lovin’ the grilled pineapple burger. Delicious.
The spread-and my dad in his super awesome apron.
Rachel and Ben represented the Anderson siblings.
Mimi taking her turn with Milo…It’s nice to have both grandmas and grandpas around!
Passing him off to Mamo. He had his very first sort-of blowout last night. Just a tiny bit of mustard on the leg of his onesie. Way to go buddy! Happy Memorial Day!
On another note, for those of you interested, I have been incredibly pleased with our Bum Genius diaper investment. They fit him great even though he’s still little, they absorb very well, wash up to like-new no matter how neon the deposit:) Every two days Dave and I have a little diaper folding session and he always mentions how he likes stuffing diapers for reuse a lot more than buying new ones every time we run out. We began using a flushable insert (it’s sort of like a thick piece of TP) because he had a minor rash and we needed to use some zinc (which you can’t do without the liner) and it’s taken the reusables to a whole new level. Now there is no solid at all in the diaper when we toss them in the wash-the solids are on the liner which just gets flushed! We’re loving it!
