Our trip to South Carolina was nothing short of wonderful.
We played at the beach every day. It was cool, clean and private, just 1/4 mile from our friend’s darling Southern rambler. We enjoyed Cami and Steve’s good company and generous hospitality. Milo especially loved running around with their three kids (and stealing toys from the baby:) Three-year old Romney introduced Milo to the Kickboard scooter and now he is pretty addicted. I took a two-hour nap in the hammock on the screened in porch…I mean, does life get any better than a nap on a hammock? While out on a golf cart ride in the neighborhood, we saw a pileated woodpecker actually pecking a tree and I thought I had jumped into a National Geographic. We ate fantastic food, both delicious home cooked fare from Cami’s kitchen, and she-crab soup and shrimp po’boys enjoyed on a porch restaurant overlooking the ocean. On a morning trip to the nearby Brookgreen Gardens Dave and I both became inspired and decided we may take up sculpting on the side:)
Basically, every moment we were spending quality time together unencumbered by unrealistic expectations, expensive plans, or unnecessary busyness. We just loved it.
