When I asked Dave about what he thought we should get for our family for Christmas, he said a boat. All three of us love the water, and we’re here, just 15 minutes away from a beautiful river. So, it makes sense! Last Saturday we took a trial run in a rental and feel one step closer to getting on the water more often in a little dinghy of our own.
Dave manned the helm and the oar. His ‘J’ stroke left nothing to be desired.
This first mate wanted to test out the waters. I made sure to keep a tight grip on his life vest, or he would have been swimming with the ducks. He would have loved that!
An attempt at a family shot from the bow. Close. But, isn’t the scenery beautiful? We got the canoe from Jack’s Boathouse in Georgetown, just beneath the Key Bridge, and the paddling was spectacular!
With the airport just a couple miles downriver, we got to see tons of planes overhead. Every time Milo hears one, he points into the air and looks around until he can see it. It’s really super cute and will make my pilot father proud!
It was a wonderful hour on the water.
