Our Test of Endurance (and some great news!)
July 17, 2008

Apartment update:
The wood floors are being sanded in the kitchen and the 2nd bedroom. Today we met Samone, who is doing the sanding. He about laughed out loud when we told him we were planning on moving in the end of this week and said he won’t even be sanded until the end of NEXT week. Kitchen appliances should be installed by this Saturday. We have no idea when the windows will be installed. Samone said he’d try to rearrange his schedule to have the floors sanded and finished by next Saturday. Our new washer and dryer were delivered today but couldn’t be installed because the vent for the dryer hasn’t even been cut in the floor yet. The exterior is 1/2 painted. Kitchen hardware is installed. Most of the light fixtures are installed…

So, best case scenario, we’ll be finished living out of our suitcases in 10 more days.

It sort of feels like a mission-I want to burn all of the (limited amount) of clothes that I’ve been wearing since we boxed up our apartment back in April.

On a happier note: I GOT A JOB!

My first full-time, real RN job working in transitional rehab. The hours are perfect (7am-3pm), it’s walking/biking distance from home, the pay is way better than the local hospital and I’ll be able to do a lot of Diabetes Education with the patients, which is what I love. I start next week (I’ve just got to go dig some scrubs out of storage!)
