Quick Trip to New England
May 18, 2010
With only two weeks bread between the end of a grueling semester and the beginning of a full-time summer gig, we needed to optimize our time! $49 Southwest tickets made up our minds to head back to New England for a few days. We lived in Concord, New Hampshire for the first year of law school, and sort of suddenly decided to transfer in the middle of the summer, so it was really nice to go back and say some hello and good bye’s to good friends and colleagues.
Of course we couldn’t spend a day in Concord without visiting our two very favorite off-the-charts places: Bread and Chocolate, a small bakery on main street with to.die.for cheese danishes, and Granite State, the local chocolate shop-turned ice cream shop in the summer which home makes every flavor, serves them up huge and covered with free chocolate jimmies! The best ever.

We picnicked in Boston Garden and Milo got to show off his one word: “Duck.” He was loving them. One of the swans was nesting, so it was really cool to see her nest and eggs. I might be sort of a bird-lover…

The primary purpose for the visit was to spend some quality time with Eric, Dave’s little brother, and his very pregnant wife, Kate. We loved catching up, sharing really delicious meatless meals, discovering a great furniture shop/IMAX/ice cream store/trapeze school, and seeing little -3 week old Alden in 3D.

I especially loved the time spent with Dave and Milo. The loves of my life.
