I whipped up this little beauty a couple months ago, to include in a “thank you” package for our fantastic Myrtle Beach hosts. I never got around to posting photos, and with the upcoming holiday and the patriotic colors of the dress, thought today was a good day:)
I love making pillowcase dresses, because they are darling, versatile and so so easy! Most of the tutorials I’ve seen are far more complicated than what I do…this one comes closest, but without all the fabric piecing.
The simple dresses make a great canvas for a little pocket or cute applique. This one got a polka-dot starfish, for the beach bum baby:)
Rather than using bias tape for the tie, I prefer to make one out of coordinating fabric (or sometimes a thick ribbon). It looks a little more finished to me.
Add a simple diaper cover, and you’ve got perfect summer duds for a little girl.
(maybe one day, I’ll have a girl…shhh don’t tell Dave I mentioned it, Eliot is exactly–and ALL– what we need right now!)
