The Sacred Grove just happens to be right on the way from Niagara to Maine. Perfect! Palmyra is really beautiful with a huge expanse of rolling farmland. We loved wandering through the Joseph Smith farm and remembering all of the exciting and sacred events that happened there.
So, we had been watching craigslist Boston for the bed that we wanted and it payed off! We found it, a little modern IKEA special for 1/2 of the original price. The owners had only used it for 8 months and it’s in perfect condition! We were all pleasantly surprised when the whole thing fit into our car…sort of! I rode slouched under it for about an hour until we could unload at our storage unit.
This was a pretty funny roadside sign in Massachusetts. “STILL Searching For a Priest”
We spent Saturday night about 2 hours northeast of Concord in Freeport, Maine. It’s the L.L. Bean epicenter for those unaware. They put on a great summer concert series and we got to see one of our favorites, Martin Sexton, for free! He was amazing. We both just looked at each other and shook our heads. It was a little wet…but sooo much fun!
And, here we are…home. Okay, not quite. The bottom floor of this great New England home is our future place…it’s being remodeled at the moment and we were planning to move in on the 1st. Well, upon arriving we discovered that things are a little behind. The hardwood floor in the kitchen is not yet installed, neither are the cupboards, appliances, toilet, windows or hardware. The landlord, however, assures us we’ll be in by the 12th. Great! Now we have 2 more weeks to discover the treasures of our new stomping ground. We hope to see some of you during the next 3 years!
