If a tomato had a label, it would say: Do Not Refrigerate
If you don’t believe me, try it. Buy two tomatoes, put one on the counter and one in the fridge. In two days take a slice of each and compare. The refrigerated tomato will taste a whole lot less like a tomato than the room temperature tomato.
