The last couple days have been filled to overflowing with fun!
Some of the highlights included: a trip to the zoo with Missy, Brandon, Liz and the girlies, visiting the White House with Sheryl, a seafood feast with family, Magnolia’s coconut cake, staying up late talking with Dave’s brother Eric and his wife Kate, the giant squid at the museum of Natural History, Thomas Cole’s The Voyage of Life series in the National Gallery, everyone in the kitchen together making Thanksgiving dinner, Singing “For the Beauty of the Earth” around the Thanksgiving table, another perfect apple pie (#2), sleeping in until 10:30am (thanks again honey!!), Ginger Cat encrusted French Toast, Georgetown on Black Friday, Italian night, Gingerbread house contest, Pick Your Nose cups, family temple trip, Thanksgiving leftover lunch, taking down my Autumn decor in preparation for Christmas:)
Future President?? The White House is much smaller in real life than I expected.

Happy Birthday Kate!!
Milo and Ellie. Ellie is Dave’s cousin’s daughter. She is two months older and three pounds lighter and could be his twin:)
Milo enjoyed his Thanksgiving feast;)
This is my apple pie. Chelsea does this leaf pattern crust every year and I decided to give it a go. Really simple-cut out the crust with a cookie cutter and layer the individual leaves until covered. There are some natural vents because of the layering. The presentation couldn’t be better. Luckily it tasted as good as it looked!
Matthew, Kate, Eric and I came up with this “red cross ski shack.” Notice the cheerio cobblestone path and the life shingles. Oh, and the stretcher, crutches and head bandage make it pretty realistic. I guess you could tell Kate and I are nurses, huh?
I “Picked” this nose for Dave. Isn’t it amazing how real this looks? Gotta love the nose piercing.
Going to the temple is a rare treat for us. This was our second trip since Milo was born, and it was especially sweet to attend with family.
We give thanks for our sweet and eternal relationship with each other and the Lord, our strong and charismatic son, caring and supportive families, a warm and peaceful home, many old and new friends, two much anticipated and well-deserved job opportunities, and the tree outside our balcony.
