Remember how I like to replicate food found in my favorite SLC restaurants? Well, this is a combination once enjoyed at Stoneground that I’ve been making for years. I have made a bunch of different variations circling around the same fantastic trio: turkey, cranberry, and pesto.
Last week I spread one slice of sunflower wheat bread with cranberry butter, one side with homemade basil almond pesto (this recipe with almonds instead of walnuts), added smoked gouda, red onion, roasted turkey and a couple cranks of black pepper.
Grilled, along side simple tomato soup, this was way better than any old grilled cheese.
It was crantastic.
Yes, I went there:)
