A great secret about D.C. is that all of the museums are open on Thanksgiving! They are all free, all close together, and all worth the hours that you can spend wandering. We visited the National Art Museum and the Air and Space museum on Thursday and the Holocaust Museum on Friday (with half of the city!)
I was fascinated by the scale of the monuments…Dave tried to be as tall as the Washington…no luck.
I noticed that Lincoln wears some super stylish square-toed shoes. I want to find some for my future-lawyer!
On Friday evening Aunt Missy and Uncle Jay arrived back home from Utah, and we were able to spend the rest of the weekend in their home. Megan treated us to a violin performance-I requested Vivaldi from Suzuki Book 5…the one song from my years of violin that still plays in my head. She played it beautifully!
Emily and Max are great friends. We loved hanging out in a real house with real family…and a dog! Matthew was around, too, although he may have been playing Rock Band during my photo ops!
Saturday we did Thanksgiving dinner. It was the first time that I’ve participated so fully in the preparation of a Thanksgiving meal, and it was fun! We had all the trimmings…Missy showed some real Oven-Savvy!
