Whew!
April 27, 2010

Remember that to do list I was working on?

Well, I’m happy to report completion of most of it…plus more, since those last-minute unplanned projects always seem to sneak up on me (and I have the hardest time saying “no”!) It’s amazing what simply writing a list can do! I got it all down, and a couple times even opened up to the blog to remember what was next. I’d recommend it!

-Gift sent
-Birthday’s celebrated
–Musical # performed

-Invitations designed and sent
-Prom dress finished (oh, get excited for photos!!)
-Surprise complete
-Newsletter finished and distributed
-Closets organized
–sew party favors--UH, still working on this one, but I did sew three shirts for the birthday boys instead! That counts for something, right?
–Book Club attended
-Stitches removed. Tomorrow I go back under the knife. Wish me luck!
–Special Opps complete
-CD sent
–Windshield replaced (and all 4 tires post- irreparable flat.)
–Visit Teach––HMMM. 4 days to go.
-Project Repurpose the Wardrobe—Nope…maybe next week? I did alter a dress for a friend, so that’s something!
-Groceries bought.
–Blog updated…bltn…
Now, I was lucky to get most if it off my plate just in time for another visit! Our friend Rachele and her little boy Beckham spent last night and today with us, and we had a really fun time!
We packed a picnic and drove to Mount Vernon (with a short side-trip to Ikea during a seriously weird and short downpour.) As we were heading for the entrance, a woman stopped us and held up two tickets. “I’ve got two extra tickets,” she said. We waited to hear how much she was charging…”Here you go, have a really fun day,” she said as she handed them over! It was a very nice and unexpected treat! The park was beautiful and virtually empty. We parked the strollers and toured Washington’s home, which was cool and interesting. My favorite room was George and Martha’s, and it was the only one she decorated herself. The woman had good taste! All white bed linens. Makes a difference!
Rachele and I were due on the same day, and these boys decided to come on the same day! So, Beckham is about 7 hours older than Milo (taking into account the 3 hour time zone difference!) It was pretty fun to see them together. Both smiley, playful, binky-loving almost-one-year-olds!
After wandering for a bit at the Mansion House, we decided to make a quick stop at Arlington National Cemetery. It is such an amazing place. We hauled the sleeping boys up to the Tomb of the Unknowns in record time, then got back to the car and to the airport just before flight time. What a busy, fun Monday! It already feels like Friday to me!! Thanks for the visit you two! Hopefully we’ll see you again, soon.
