As far as Valentine’s Day events go, this one was a homerun. A lighthearted and funny presentation given by different zookeepers and vets at the National Zoo about the dating, mating and romance of the animals! Whole Foods sponsored the food and sent everyone home with a red rose. Lucky for those guys who forgot flowers for their Valentines last week! Fabulous.
Georgetown Cupcake (THE cupcake bakery in the DC area) donated hundreds of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with a.m.a.z.i.n.g cream cheese frosting for decorating. Here’s Dave completing his masterpiece with neon pink frosting spray (have you seen THIS? I am fascinated!) and red gel. I topped mine with cinnamon hearts…then spooned a bunch into my hand to munch on. The masterpieces went straight into our mouthes. Mmm. Then we decorated a couple more to bring home to the sitter. Thanks again, Karen!
Wandering in the zoo at night is a little eerie! We thought it could make a good “Night at the Museum” sequel. “Night at the Zoo,” where all of the wild animals…um…turn into statues? No, turns out it’s not a great idea. The Woo, however, WAS a great idea, and a fun date. Hope they do it next year.
