Six years ago I had the idea to start eating the same basic meals over and over again to save time, energy, and money. I was consistently overwhelmed by the idea of coming up with new meals every night for a family of young kids who barely wanted to eat anything anyway! The witching hour was also dinnertime, and it felt like a lot of pressure to be creative day after day.
As I considered the way people eat around the world, I realized that here in America, we hold ourselves to an unrealistic standard of variety and novelty. So, I involved my family in choosing simple, nutritious meals that we all enjoyed, and put them on repeat.
As the years have gone by, I have continued to use the minimal meal plan, and have shared about it on the blog and on my podcast. So many moms have reached out to tell me what a difference it has made in their lives to simplify and invite ease back into dinnertime.
Some even suggested I formalize the idea into more of a step-by-step process that families could follow to design and personalize their own minimal meal plan. And, now I have!
The Seven Days, Seven Dinners Minimal Meal Planning Course is a framework that provides the instruction and tools for your family to create your own minimal meal plan. I teach the perspective, the process, and give you the simple lessons and worksheets you need to make a basic, stress-free plan that works for your budget, your skill and interest level, and your dietary preferences.
I am thrilled to be a voice encouraging you to simplify and tune into your own family’s needs, rather than adding to the cacophony of voices telling you what they think you need.
This meal planning system isn’t for everyone. If you love variety, cooking new recipes weekly, and spending lots of time and energy in the kitchen, there are a million meal planning tools available for you. However, if you desire consistency and are willing to trade variety for peace and ease, you’ll love Seven Days, Seven Dinners.
